Piatra Craiului National Park - 22 Feb 20

The national park is beautiful

We saw quite a few of these guys

This photo was on a board was taken. Dan explained the rangers saw some shepherds carrying a car is. They told them to return it to where they found it, which we where we parked. Shortly after the lynx returned for it's kill and they took this photo.

It was so slippery at sections I was spending a lot of time on all fours!!

We slipped and slid our way back to the car and had two hours to relax before Dan fetched us again. We were lucky the road the bear hide is possible to drive now.

The hide was smaller than I expected. After sitting about 10 minutes, the bench suddenly gave! I got such a fright, unsure if it was the bench or the whole structure collapsing!!

The rangers put a little food out to encourage bears to this area

We waited for two hours

Started to get dark and still nothing

And finally I saw some movement on the right.... a beautiful big brown bear came quietly.

I checked in the car my flash was off as Dan warned us that works scare the bear. I checked again when switching it on that it was still off, and then as the bear came out into the open,I clicked.... The Infrared I want aware of was on!! It flashed a red light, the bear have a breathy grunt and ran off, not to be seen again. I felt so stupid and cross with myself!!
But so privileged to have seen such a beautiful big brown bear!!

Now I'm tired. We walked 13kms today and it was tiring because of the stress if slipping.
