Bucharest - Stavropoleos monastery, umbrella street, revolution square and Park Carol

Today we walked 9.3km

I bought coffee and croissants at the Starbucks near us for breakfast.

Beautiful buildings everywhere.

And rundown derelict areas which had beautiful graffiti.

After a slow morning we looked through our lists to see what else might be nice to visit.
Just another pretty building on our block

We started with going inside the Stavropoleos monastery for nuns which is right at our accommodation. A really elegant nun all in black walked past but I missed taking her photo.

 A lady let us inside

Beautiful ceiling

Next closest sight was a pretty bookshop.

Fun shop window display

Found a nice Vietnamese restaurant where we had soup for lunch.

We walked through Umbrella street.

And saw more beautiful graffiti

Revolution square is where Ceausescu gave his last speach where the crowd, instructed to show support inserted booed him, leading to his execution a few days later, along with his wife
The balcony where Ceausescu gave his last speach

Memorial in revolution square. Commonly called the potato (meant to be a crown) on a stick.

It was a long walk to Carol Park (passing "home" on the way). Pretty graffiti to entertain me though.

University building

Keep seeing this guy in nerdy Jerseys :)

Love her jacket

We finally made it to Park Carol, named after King Carol the First.
My cafe

I bought a beer on the way

Just what I'd choose :)

Nice dress

Tiny car!

We made it home and relaxed a while before having dinner at the most beautiful restaurant. Wine is expensive in Romania. A cheapish bottle is about R400 in a restaurant.
